Long walks without distractions. Early mornings in the gym. Prayer. Being intentional about putting my phone down. And regularly checking whether I’m responding from peace or reacting from pain. I’ve learned that self-awareness is one of the greatest forms of discipline.

About 50. I’ve always felt older than my age. I’ve been taking care of people, leading, and carrying responsibilities for so long that I rarely feel like the carefree version of myself.
Gratitude. Church yesterday wrecked me. 😮‍💨
Trauma isn’t always what happened to you. Sometimes it’s what never happened. Never feeling safe. Never being chosen. Never being protected. Never being allowed to be vulnerable. People think trauma is always loud, but some of the deepest wounds are built in silence.
And I’ve spent a large part of my life being that person for others, through conversations, prayers, encouragement, leadership, and simply refusing to leave people alone in their darkest moments.
Realizing I had spent so much of my life pouring into everyone else that I had almost nothing left for myself. There was a season where depression, anxiety, disappointment, and loneliness all collided. That’s when I learned survival isn’t the same thing as living.

When I’m leading with purpose. Whether I’m mentoring someone, cooking for people I care about, directing worship, leading a team, building something meaningful, or simply making someone feel seen, I feel most alive when I’m serving from a healthy place, not from obligation.
I’m attempting to master tiramisu. That’s the one dessert I can’t quite get perfect, yet. But I’m 95% there.
Seeing how quickly people will choose ideology over compassion, politics over people, and comfort over truth. It taught me that character is revealed by how you treat people who can do nothing for you.
