Social media companies need oversight; edtech should be highly regulated & require high-quality research based evidence; curriculum related to AI should be introduced only judiciously & w/focus on medial literacy and critical thinking. None of these are accomplished by screen or social media bans.
Reminder that children are not their parents' property, despite how most of society consciously or subconsciously sees them. The job of a parent is to make sure that children have the opportunity to grow up safely into the people said children want to be. NOT who the parents want the kid to be.
They say there is “no money” for teachers, smaller classes, counselors, and public schools. But somehow there is always money for wars, bailouts, and tax breaks for the wealthy.
