Polly, one of our Slocum gliders, was equipped with a @rocklandscientific.bsky.social Microrider — a sensor that detects tiny variations in water movement to help researchers better understand ocean mixing processes off the Scotian Shelf 🌊
🗓️ JUNE STUDY HALL SCHEDULE!
Tune into OTN’s study hall on Thursdays to explore data analysis tools, methods and solutions with the OTN data team and peers from around the globe!

Last month, Iago Gradin from our telemetry ops team attended the All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance forum in Brazil. He presented on OTN and joined a panel on ocean tech insights. A great opportunity to connect and share ocean science across the Atlantic 🌊
MAY STUDY HALL SCHEDULE! 🗓️
Every Thursday, the OTN data team works with peers from across the globe to answer telemetry questions & help problem solve! These informal sessions can be a valuable resource for anyone interested in aquatic telemetry.

🌊🐟 Happy #WorldOceansDay! With this year’s theme, “Strong MPAs for Our Blue Planet,” we’re proud to work w/ Mike Lawrence, a DFO biologist, using acoustic telemetry in the Musquash Estuary MPA to better understand fish movement & support evidence-based marine protection. tinyurl.com/yubm8wt5

OTN is proud to support research in the Banc-des-Américains MPA (Gulf of St. Lawrence, off Gaspé), where telemetry tracks Atlantic wolffish and lobster. Using 50 OTN + 47 DFO acoustic receivers and diver tagging, researchers are revealing movements & habitat use to inform MPA monitoring 🪸 📸 DFO/MPO
Our director of data operations, @jdpye.bsky.social, has accepted a nomination to co-chair the AniBOS Data Management Committee, helping advance how animal-borne ocean data are standardized and shared globally: anibos.com 📸: C. McMahon | R. Harcourt
