Waiting for a Metra train at Central Street may not be such a cold experience in the wintertime, thanks to the station’s inclusion in the $10 million Access to Transit program under the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA).
While the Central Street station building itself is open from 5:15 a.m. – 1:15 p.m., it can get pretty brisk outdoors when the depot is locked.
