Skokie Park District’s Board is set to consider placing a $53 million bond referendum on the November ballots to redevelop two sites near the Evanston border.  Next month the board will decide whether to seek the funds to turn a former industrial site on Oakton Street along the North Shore Channel into a new “Channelside Park South” and to extensively redevelop the Skokie Sports Park East on Oakton Street just west of McCormick Boulevard. adding a new recreation center, walking trails and sports fields.
