quietly turning the clipboard over and handing it to the higher-up. serena stood there with dull eyes. is this really what her life was coming to.
being an assassin has been her motivation. she lost that. now look at her.
the hedgehog nodded, reading through the documents and signing in the correct areas and making sure to REALLY read between the lines.
"understood. i am almost done with this," she mumbled, signing her agent name with neat cursive.
` You will run your own brigade and attend the meetings that all generals do. Β΄
She explained simply, placing her pen into the basket resting on her table.
taking the clipboard and pen with a delicate flourish of her hand. she glanced at the higher-up and was silent for a second before speaking.
"what promotion would there be with field work. i am interested to know," she asked with her usual tone, but this time it was more subdued.
She nodded and flipped through the paperwork before handing over a small stack of papers on a clipboard with a pen in tow.
` Here. Just go fill this out, sign where needed except for where it says overseer's signature. I will sign that. Do you have any questions? Β΄
"i see. may i stay doing field work, if possible," she inquired, knowing she would not thrive with a desk job.
agent serena's skills were better suited with field work, due to her former occupation, and her hand-to-hand combat was fairly advanced. the agent wasn't turning down the promotion.
She pulled open a drawer and placed it atop the desk, opening it up and reading through it.
` .. Well, apparently you are due for a promotion up the rank and in whichever district you so desire. Β΄
She shut the book and rested her hands atop each once again.
` You have a.. βͺ
agent serena was just as monotone and blank, as most douchebag variants were. the hedgehog stood there silently, hands at her sides. she wasn't very surprised by what the higher up was saying.
"apologies. disappointing indeed. what happens to be the good news," serena inquired after a pause.
She lifted her head and hummed to herself before sliding the papers aside, resting her hands atop one another.
` Ah, Agent Serena. Yes. I had been waiting for you to show. You are approximately 20 seconds late. How disappointing. Β΄

silently pushing open the door with an open palm, entering and standing in the doorway quietly. brown eyes lock with the person behind the desk, slowly approaching and letting the door shut behind her.
"you wanted to see me," serena mumbled, standing there at attention.

She took a sip of her coffee before hearing a knock on the door, narrowing her eyes.
