I do understand why some people posting this kind of absolute gold might be upset at only receiving 24 likes.
But I don’t mind. We’re all about quality over quantity here, and I’ve delighted in watching the very best people gather in their brief appreciation of this kind of thing.
Imagine the level of labour that goes into getting the feeling of being in that vehicle racing across a beach. And knowing it was totally worth it.
And then explaining it to someone ten thousand years later.
I absolutely love this stuff.
I’m not like this because I’m in Van Halen, I’m in Van Halen because I’m like this.
I don’t know if this idea is easily communicated (there’s a running theme) but I’m deep into the morning writing shift, wrestling the topic of “what people do all day in Forgotten Doggerland” & this image came across my feed and it’s STARTLING in its timeliness.
What do people do all day in 1957?
I like the colours in these ones.
There is some good in this world, Mr Frodo.
Throwback er Tuesday. It’s the cover to a Warmaster Ancient Armies.
Hold up a minute… this came out in 2006, making it 4 years old. Definitely. Yes just 4 years ago. How time flies, eh?
So I made these stands for our A3 backdrop books out of old pallet wood, nicely sanded etc. and without the books on them they make a sort of field of monoliths. So I put googly eyes on them, obviously.
At the weekend games show some fell off, and I put them in my pocket.
Today? Surprise friend!
It’s always tricky to keep on making when there’s such horror all around.
But you know. Gotta.
I’m very keen to see how these tokens come out. Pond water tinged resin with embedded flint chips. And some tiny resin wolf skulls. Not sure what they’re for yet. We’ll work it out.
I wanted to set up a Maskwitches landscape tonight & make some new images. But I was too tired, and knew I’d leave a mess for Wednesday me. So we’ll have to make do with looking at these ones.
The thing that sustains me is that I don’t always feel like it’s me doing it? Which is good when arting.
