I didn't realize the lead singer of AC/DC was from Ohio. Impressive accent work!

Alas, not the lead singer of AC/DC. It's a former deputy CFPB director during the first Trump administration turned Capital One credit card executive.
On a side note, Russ Vought said that he's only going to issue nonbinding policy statements if they make life simpler for banks. This is not that.
But what does this mean for those rumored Fannie, Freddie IPOs?
Just a quick update on this:
The CFPB has set up an archive site where you can find the old speeches, press releases, etc. back to late 2024, and they may be adding more. wayback.archive-it.org/23481/*/http...
The non-English resources still appear to be gone.
I've covered the ins and outs of what the Trump administration is doing to the CFPB, and this story really brings together what's happening.
Has anyone who follows me here ever been involved in hiring at the OCC? I have some questions about job description numbers and what actual jobs they correspond to.
Banks and other lenders are supposed to review whether a potential borrower can repay a loan. Now, the CFPB is telling lenders that they need to include the prospect of someone getting deported in those calculations.

The CFPB is setting up for a post-Russell Vought existence that is probably going to look like he never left when his term as acting director expires later this year. New from me: news.bloomberglaw.com/banking-law/...
The CFPB's return-to-office plan may be a stealth reduction-in-force effort. Don't believe me? It's new office has capacity for 550 people. The agency has around 650 in and around DC alone.
The question is whether the DC Circuit will want to review the plan.
