Earlier today, we gathered at the House of Lords to mark a historic step forward in abortion law. Women will no longer face criminal investigation, prosecution or imprisonment for ending their own pregnancies. A milestone made possible by years of campaigning and advocacy.
Heidi Stewart from @bpas.bsky.social says it is concerning that well-funded anti-abortion organisations, many with links to the US, are increasingly “seeking to influence debate and policy in the UK”, particularly given the recent "rollback of reproductive rights" in parts of the US.

The public is clear. But in a changing political landscape, we cannot be complacent. BPAS will continue to stand up for reproductive rights, advocate for modern abortion laws, and ensure people can access the care they need, when they need it.
