Jerry had friends who weren't fiends, mostly made-good college buddies. The space they occupied wasn't major, the demands on his time, modest. Not so with the other crew. There wasn't a #fiend among them with qualms, turning Jerry's life upside down. His life survived; Jerry not so much.
