One of the things I find missing from a lot of the advocacy I see stateside (not just locally), is explicitly stated goals like this. Let's get to 50% by 2035 here in Rochester, and the US as whole. Advocacy groups should clearly announce this, or something similar, as a goal.
I shall watch this with interest. There's no way to get 60% of kids actively travelling to school without disrupting current patterns of car-based mobility. This includes making all urban streets safer, not just those right outside schools
