Mae'r casgliad yn cynnwys nifer o lythyrau a ffotograffau – yn cynnwys llun o Heare yn cwrdd â'r Brenin Edward VIII ym Mhont-y-pŵl ym 1936.

Ganed Preifat Charles Parkinson Heare (1891 – 1985) yn Nhref Gruffydd, ger Pont-y-pŵl. Ef oedd yr hynaf o chwe phlentyn. Ymunodd Heare ag Ail Fataliwn Llu Tiriogaethol Catrawd Sir Fynwy ym 1913 a chychwyn am Ffrainc ar 5 Tachwedd 1914.
This week is International Archives Week and this year’s theme is #ArchivesForJustice with particular focus on rights, memory and futures. Preserving memories through personal testimonies such as diaries is just one way archives support justice.
The collection includes a number of letters and photographs – including one of Heare meeting King Edward VIII at Pontypool in 1936.

He spent the First World War as an orderly, under the 4th and 29th Divisions.
Here at Gwent Archives we hold Heare’s diary. Despite being called a diary, it is likely that he wrote it sometime after the end of the First World War.
Private Charles Parkinson Heare (1891 – 1985) was born in Griffithstown, near Pontypool, and was the eldest of six children. Heare joined the Second Battalion of the Monmouthshire Regiment Territorial Force in 1913 and embarked for France on 5th November 1914.
Treuliodd y Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf fel trefnydd, o dan y 4ydd a'r 29ain Adran.
Mae dyddiadur Heare gennym ni yma, yn Archifau Gwent. Er gwaethaf cael ei alw'n ddyddiadur, mae'n debygol iddo ei ysgrifennu rywbryd ar ôl diwedd y Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf.
Mae’n Wythnos Ryngwladol Archifau yr wythnos hon, a’r thema eleni yw #ArchivesForJustice, y mae ei ffocws penodol ar hawliau, atgofion a dyfodol. Mae cadw atgofion trwy dystiolaeth bersonol fel dyddiaduron yn un ffordd y mae archifau yn cefnogi cyfiawnder.
