Excellent breakdown- devil is always in the details when it comes to protected intersection design.

I am on record that protected corners, when designed so that they put a 6" curb directly in the path of travel of a bicyclist, are a hazard. Yes, this does have the effect of limiting the likelihood of right-hook crashes, but also almost certainly causes solo crashes that will never be reported.
