Afterwards, we enjoyed the ECR Networking Event, which was perfectly organised by the @ypic.bsky.social members. We will keep you updated with further posts covering #EuPA2025.
Maxi Schütte also did a great job giving his first talk on his work on a high-throughput metaproteomics sample preparation pipeline during the metaproteomics sessions.
2) McQuaC, our very own tool for quality control in proteomics experiments. For those who missed them: Both posters are still on the boards today, so take your chance to come and view them!
The second day of the #EuPA2025 conference in Saint-Malo was packed with activities for our MPC members! Katalin and Svitlana presented their posters, which covered: 1) the use of proteomics in forensic investigations of crime scenes, and
• Katrin was chosen as the most popular female lecturer in the winter semester 2024/2025. So we just keep going and look forward to many students who find their way to the MPC and experience the joy of research with us!
BUT – we are very proud of ourselves because • we manage to inspire more and more students for MPC by offering research-related internship positions. • the Chemistry lecture in the winter semester 2024/2025 was the most popular lecture in medical studies (chosen by students of the first semester).
Prof. Dr. Katrin Marcus-Alic has even been coordinating the Chemistry lecture in the first semester of Human Medicine for more than 10 years. Honestly, it must be said that Chemistry and Biochemistry are not necessarily among the favorite subjects of medical students.
However, in addition to many internships and courses in “Proteomics” and “Bioinformatics” for undergraduate and graduate students, we are also involved in seminars and lectures in the regular study programs of Biochemistry and Biology.
We are proud of our teaching! In addition to research, we at MPC are also intensively involved in teaching. Since the MPC is part of the Medical Faculty of @ruhr-uni-bochum.de, we primarily teach medical students.
