Co-activation can be functional, to stabilize, or pathological, e.g. after stroke, but both are captured in one EMG recording.
In our recent paper (first-author Ellis van Can) we isolate functional co-activation through a leg-swinging task in healthy adults.

Are you interested in the role of visual information in controlling gait stability? In this new paper from our group we exploited optic flow perturbations to study the relationship between gait stability and gait speed.
