The fact that they weaponized a term and practice by a Black scholar— Saidiya Hartman— to justify AI, supposedly to benefit people whose history is currently being erased from archives *using* AI is rich! Work of Haitian historian Michel-Rolph Trouillot is helpful in understanding origin of gaps.
