We fully agree with young people, in this important new @savechildrensco.bsky.social & @youngscot.bsky.social research, that tackling child poverty has to be the top priority for @scottishgov.bsky.social in its first 100 days.
Today, our Head of Policy, Martin Canavan gave evidence to the Right To Food UK Commission in Glasgow. We highlighted how food insecurity impacts children & families we work with & how our Urgent Assistance Fund supports families across Scotland struggling to feed their children.

We recognise the very real progress made on child poverty in recent years, not least through the vital investment in the Scottish Child Payment. But we are deeply concerned that the new plan does not go far enough in meeting the needs of the far too many children and their families struggling today.

Wherever mothers & their children live they need a straightforward route to effective & non-judgemental support. That requires more cooperation & joined-up thinking between services, rigorous assessment of the support available, & expansion of the most successful services built on secure funding.
This #IMHAW we're highlighting the importance of keeping families in recovery together, where it is safe to do so.
As part of our Families' Voices project, mums shared their experiences and the support they received from Aberlour services to keep their families together on their recovery journey.
