I did my special subject as an undergrad on Charlemagne, and what was great about the course was the quality of, for want of a better term, "academic personality" there was in the historians you got to read: Mckitterick, Jinty Nelson (who ran the course) Roger Collins. All absolute bangers.
Given how many little "big animals on wheels" we've had from all over the world, I think the prehistoric equivalent of "Truck Kid" might be "Ox Kid."
