I hope these awards can cast a little extra light on the polycrises we face and focus our attention on the urgency to reimagine alternative, socially just futures for all.
I wrote the book to capture how the datafication of aid reproduces coloniality and engenders new forms of violence against migrants, refugees and those facing climate disasters. I also wrote the book to begin reimagining digital infrastructures, solidarity & humanitarianism. See ⬇️ for more
The news comes as the withdrawal of aid has devastating consequences across the world and is used to justify further tech experimentation. Closer to home, universities, including my own, face grave threats.
