old deviantart will forever be the golden standart for an art gallery website. You had your own page you could decorate, you could post long journals and people WOULD READ IT! You could find big and small artists easily and make friends, people were genuinely interested in interacting with you there

I miss the old deviantART so bad. Especially the notification system. New posts/journals neatly organised by artist, there until you deleted them so you never missed anything. I found SO many artists through dA. Then they had to ruin it and there's never been anything like it since
