I checked this morning and it’s fermenting! And it already tastes lovely. I’m leaving it to tonight and think I’ll bottle it.
I tried to be a good citizen - had a volunteering day at our local hospice but they had to cancel it. Unfortunately I missed the internal message telling me so turned up for it! Fortunately it’s very close altho I’m not thrilled about being back at work today. Minimal meetings though, result!
My subconscious must have remembered @nicmiller.bsky.social talking about tepache as yesterday I was sure I could use pineapple skin & core for *something*. And now I have a jar of tepache fermenting, I hope!
Tomorrow evening at 8pm UK time there’ll be a collection of one-off necklaces I’ve made using these Victorian & Edwardian stamp holders, lockets & charms. This time there’ll also be a cabinet of curiosities necklace, a garland of Victorian mother of pearl buttons & a 1920s freshwater pearl garland🗝️
We came up with the concept of being a ‘hyena vegetarian’ today: someone who doesn’t buy meat but will, for example, eat cooked burgers left over at the end of a barbecue.
