I welcome the Government's Youth Guarantee, 300,000 work experience placements and the push for more apprenticeships.
However, we need systemic change. That's why I've joined colleagues in writing to the Government to demand a national mission with one goal: NEET ZERO.

This is both a moral and economic failure - costing an estimated £125bn annually, with lifetime earnings losses of around £300,000 per young person.

when it was introduced in 2015. They are now in universities and colleges, in exactly the high-contact environments where this disease spreads.
Where a disease has a vaccine, no one should be left unprotected.
I've been calling for a ban since the beginning of this year, and over 1,200 #NorthSomerset residents contacted me on this issue, making it one of the biggest campaigns I've seen.
Incredibly relieved to see after campaigning for the MenB vaccine to be rolled out, a million young people will now be offered it.
As a pharmacist for nearly 20 years, I know how serious MenB is. There is a generation of teenagers and young adults who missed out on the MenB vaccine
Great news for parents! The Government has announced a social media ban for under-16s.
This will:
📵 Ban 'user-to-user' apps for under-16s where people create, share and interact with content
Every young person in #NorthSomerset and across the UK deserves a route into work, education or training.
It's time to treat this like the national emergency it is.
