Bummed that my excerpt is getting cut off on the article previews. It fit in Slack and Discord previews. "Mat Marquis isn't known for pulling his punches. And yet, Marquis stopped short when he declared The End of Responsive Images. Mat left responsive images on the ropes. I hope to finish them."
Speaking of Safari team, they put together a fantastic 9 minute video introduction to customizable selects. It's a bite-sized intro that does a great job covering the new syntax. developer.apple.com/videos/play/...

Once again, @gri.gs proves that I am the more even-keeled of the two of us — not given to hyperbole or hubris, as he so often is — as he declares the death of responsive images once and for all. Call him a “bad influence” on me if you must (as many people do!), but so help me: I’m inclined to agree.
Look, I generally agree that California (and some other vote by mail states) should count its votes faster. But *that’s* not what is undermining faith in government. It’s bad faith actors exploiting the slow ballot count to make baseless claims of irregularities.

And yes, there are many things I wish Apple would do (:cough: browser choice :cough:), but I just want to take a moment and say this is an impressive release. Kudos.
We're long past the days of Safari only releasing improvements with every iOS update which is why the long list of improvements in Safari 27 is so impressive. webkit.org/blog/17967/n...

Browsers on video game consoles have long been a majorly underdocumented topic. That changes today with my latest article, which I can confidently say is the most comprehensive game console browser coverage on the entire web. I'd love for you to give it a read: vale.rocks/posts/game-c...

lol. The gentleman who introduced me to the concept of the wizard's staff drinking game calls me a bad influence. :)

To be clear, I've never played the wizard's staff drinking game. Not gonna happen. And yet, the fact there have only been three times in my life when I was sick from drinking too much and one of them was with @wil.to should tell you something… He’s a good friend _and_ a bad influence. The best.
Responsive images syntax was always a compromise forced by constraints. Lazy-loading removes the one of those constraints. Now we have an opportunity to simplify responsive images. Let's make it happen! cloudfour.com/thinks/endin...
