A #vss365 prompted by the horrifying events in Belfast last night
Excited to (finally) get to meet and hear @matthewcobb.bsky.social deliver his Grace lecture @unil.bsky.social to kick off the Center for Integrative Genomics symposium on โInformation transfer: From genes to behaviour"
Embedded in this appalling story about censorship by the ADA is a reminder that a formerly well respected scientist, Rick Woychik, sold out to sell the MAHA agenda & was representing NIH/MAHA at the meeting. When colleagues sell out we need to highlight their perfidy

In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm.

A recently finished undergraduate (with lots of research time in my lab) applied for 60 research tech jobs with no luck... And this week I talked to an undergrad (son of a family friend) looking unsuccessfully for summer research in evolutionary genetics - AS A VOLUNTEER.
