I think about international policy, politics, conflict, and political corruption. Trying to harness Machiavellian cynicism for the common good.
What *is* so funny 'bout peace, love, and understanding?

So it seems kinda problematic that:
— Iran is circulating at least 3 different versions of this peace deal.
—The US can’t seem to cough up even one version, even though it’s supposedly just 1.5 pages long.
— The architects of the deal are Witkoff and Kushner.

True story:
I owned a copy of Collected Fictions for 20+ years. I had to leave it behind when I was evacuated from Libya in 2014.
After I left the UN and moved back to the US in 2022, one of the first things I bought was another copy. It’s currently on my bedside table.
Governments trust this guy’s company to collect and secure some of the most sensitive data in the world.
Listened to this and immediately felt inspired to go back and watch a few episodes of Andor. I’d already forgotten just how good that show was.
On a completely different note, LA Burdick is doing its annual fundraiser for elephant and rhino conservation right now. I also got a mouse and a penguin while I was there today.

- I’ve only seen one of Iran’s versions myself, but circulating multiple versions is not surprising as a negotiating tactic, depending on the specific differences between them.
- Who are Witkoff and Kushner’s staff on this? Working level staff are key.

SCOOP: So remember Dialog, Peter Thiel's private society that doesn't have a public website and no public list of members?
I (along with a number of other journalists) have just been tipped off that embedded in the code of their closed off website there IS what seems to be a list of some members.
Dylan, on life in your 80’s, is incredible.

Always on my night stand and which I take with me whenever I travel: Jorge Luis Borges' Collected Fictions
Totally unrelated but this skeet reminded me that a guy spent five years making a stop-motion version of the Sabotage video by hand and finally finished it a couple weeks ago.

You don't have to answer the door for the Feds. Do not voluntarily talk to the Feds. If they have a warrant signed by an actual judge, then they can do precisely what the warrant says.
But DO NOT TALK TO THE FEDS. Do not answer the door. If you're arrested, your only words are "I want a lawyer."
