Pride month really is that deep. I would lay in my bed and sob watching videos of other lesbians. Thinking I would never be able to live that life without losing everyone. I was so terrified of the ways my life would change or whether my family and friends would accept me.
This is my first pride since coming out. My heart absolutely aches for my younger self, but I wish they could see where I am now. I’m so proud to be a lesbian. Living my truest self has brought me a joy and comfort I truly didn’t know was possible.
If you’re reading this and wishing you could come out but feel scared, I promise that for every relationship “lost” you will gain so many more. The only thing scarier than coming out is not doing it. We will be ok, and we will be ok together ❤️ happy pride besties!
I hid behind the bi label for years and kept my girlfriends a secret from my family. At least I still liked men right??? I was miserable. Forcing myself into a box that didn’t fit for everyone else’s comfort.
