The poet Lord Byron never lived at ClaytonHall, but his family owned the Hall for over 400 years after Cecilia Clayton married Robert de Byron in 1194. One of England's greatest literary figures can trace part of his family story back to Clayton.
Our friends at Wythenshawe Hall are celebrating 100 years since the Hall and Park were gifted to the people of Manchester.
A wonderful weekend of living history, music, exhibitions and family activities takes place on 13 & 14 June.
Congratulations from all at Clayton Hall!
This #VolunteersWeek, we’re saying a huge thank you to everyone who gives their time, care and passion to Clayton Hall.
We’re an entirely volunteer-run museum, and quite simply, volunteers make Clayton Hall. Thank you for everything you do. ❤️
Trustees met this evening as plans continue for Clayton Hall's Grand Reopening. A few finishing touches are still underway, but we're excited to welcome visitors soon. We're also gathering memories, stories and photos for future projects. Watch this space!
