this is the actual and IMO very good reason why social media platforms usually avoid edit buttons
genuinely from a design standpoint yes. there are a ton of moderation problems with being able to edit a post (e.g. if someone has a post blow up and edits it, and now it looks like thousands of people agree with something hateful or otherwise TOS-violating)
