Alberta is about much, much more than oil and gas. Great to see these polling results from (Alberta-based) @pembina.org. 6 in 10 don’t want taxpayer money to support a new oil pipeline, and 2 in 3 say AB's economy is too dependent on oil and gas. www.theenergymix.com/breaking-61-...
As it turns out, Canadians are not cool with oil and gas companies making money hand over fist while they struggle with increased prices from Trump's dumb war. The time has come for a tax on the excess profits of oil and gas corporations, with revenues used to help Canadians lower energy bills.
I love this breakdown of potential economic scenarios, courtesy of @natehagens.bsky.social. I know where I'd like to go, and we have the tools to get there.
The level of misinformation and disinformation - not to mention straight-up intimidation - against clean energy is high. Interestingly, questions about funding for these 'grassroots' opposition groups tend to go unanswered. www.theguardian.com/environment/...
It was a great pleasure to join colleagues from across the environmental sector, as well as MPs Patrick Bonin, Elizabeth May and Leah Gazan as part of a demonstration of cross-partisan opposition to new oil pipelines.

A human wall and more registered intervenors than any utility project in the Alberta's recent history. With major environmental costs and benefits that are fuzzy at best, AI data centres are losing the public relations battle in a profound way. www.theenergymix.com/hundreds-of-...
This story couldn't be more timely, as the Northern Hemisphere approaches a summer that will be charged by a super El Niño. grist.org/health/wildf...
The impending El Niño event will turbocharge climate impacts. It's one thing to prepare as an individual or community. Check out the great work of My Climate Plan here. But we also need systemic solutions - ambitious climate policy - more than ever. www.theguardian.com/environment/...
