@hih-tuebingen.bsky.social and of course I will continue my work in the beautiful city of Tübingen! Looking forward to more collaborations 🥳
We are offering a fully funded PhD position (TV-L E13 65%, three years) on Body Memory Modulation Networks in Aging at the Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research (HIH), University of Tübingen, Germany.
Start date: 01/06/2026 at earliest
Application deadline: 15.04.2026
This award should also be shared with my great colleague and co-first author of the paper, Juliane Doehler, for the fantastic team work and dedication that made this research possible.

I'm incredibly honoured and excited to share the great news, that I am awarded #Attempto-Preis 2025! 🎉🥳
This recognition is for our recently published paper, “Layer-specific changes in sensory cortex across the life span in mice and humans.” at #Nature Neuroscience. It truly is a career highlight.
I’m exited to share the good news that I received Hertie Network of Excellence in Clinical Neuroscience fellowship! @hertieneurosci.bsky.social It will be a great step forward for me to develop into an independent researcher. And thank you Esther @estherkuehn.bsky.social for your support and help!
I’m honoured to receive 2025 China Europe Outstanding Young Scientist Award.
As a kid, being a ‘scientist’ always sound far away, yet now I am called a scientist on many occasions.
It’s a very nice feeling, I must say. And it will surely encourage me to keep pursuing in neuroscience.
So it seems that with #female first author #female shared first author #female last author & #female second last author we somehow belong to the 4.7% (or even less) Shocking & More reason to celebrate @pengliu.bsky.social @pakanlab.bsky.social @hih-tuebingen.bsky.social @unituebingen.bsky.social

The principal layer architecture of the sensory cortex is altered with aging. A paper in Nature Neuroscience shows that overall thinning of the primary somatosensory cortex is driven by deep layer degeneration but that layer IV is more pronounced in old age. go.nature.com/45l9kq8 🧪

🏆 Die Attempto-Awards 2025 gehen an Dr. Peng Liu und Dr. Philipp Klocke, beide aus dem HIH! 🙌
Ausgezeichnet wurden ihre herausragenden neurowissenschaftlichen Studien zur Alterung in der Großhirnrinde und zu #Parkinson 🧠
Herzlichen Glückwunsch! 🎉
