Taking Trump's name off the Kennedy Center was a mortal wound to the world's largest and most fragile ego. The legal battle to keep up and then the effort to conceal the final de-Trumpification of the Kennedy Center felt like the old guy bargaining with the grim reaper for a few more hours of life.
