Much like the post civil war period, you cannot make progress without changing the institutions. The fact that people like Mayor Pete are openly discussing Court reform, DC statehood, etc. is an incredibly positive sign. Push them to go farther. History shows this is the only path forward. 12/12
One thing that I've been thinking about is how today's rise in White Supremacist ideology mirrors what we saw in the lead up to the Civil War during the 1840s and 50s. I don't think we're going to have another civil war (for a lot of reasons), but there are a ton of parallels. 1/x
