Bluebead (Liliaceae: Clintonia borealis) is native to woodlands in northeastern North America. After pollination the showy yellow flowers develop into small blue fruit. These berries provide food for wildlife but are mildly toxic to humans. Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, Wisconsin, 23 Jul 2012.
