Anthropologist Marisol de la Cadena has been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences for her research on Indigenous knowledge, language, and “ways of knowing.” Her work explores how anthropology can expand how we think about the world and one another.

For her innovative research in Indigenous studies and on the politics of knowledge, de la Cadena was recently elected as a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious honorary societies.
