I’m “condemning” you for trying to browbeat people with misinformation, and then trying to pretend you didn’t convey said misinformation.
My “bad behavior” is being mean to you in the process of correcting the record. These are not on the same scale. They’re not even in the same zip code.
The result is that I feel less like I’m working with and developing a stable of writers and more like I’m tossing feedback into the void with the vague hope that it impacts content down the line.

I think AI is killing my sense of fulfillment at my job.
One of the benefits of being a staff editor has been that I consistently work with the same stable of writers. The “nitty-gritty” of my job is marking up documents, yeah, but the real core has been coaching.
I love watching writers improve.

The combination of zero civic literacy and gaslighting about her own stance has me suspect that this is very much a right-wing op.
I know the rabbi means redheads, but I’m envisioning an entire community of circumcised gingerbread men.
And it’s not the quality regression from AI that’s deflating me. It’s knowing that, when I give them feedback, rather than learn from it, a lot of these writers are trying to find ways to plug that into the AI so it creates something I find more acceptable without them doing significant legwork.

Weird of these bigots to call for their own destruction, but hey, no reason to disappoint them.
I want to highlight that the “guardrails” AI companies talk about are at best suggestions. LLMs are algorithms. They’re fundamentally non-deterministic, which means they will just drop even the most explicit guidance at times.
