In 2 months of volunteering with VoteRiders in TX, I've:
- ordered & paid for birth certificates
- helped arrange rides to DPS, hospitals, & social security
- paid ID fees
Getting out the vote requires *tons* of resources. This is a great opportunity to support orgs like VR reach more people.

SSRN responded to Bainbridge’s complaints with some “clarifications” (or changes, I don’t know which) and they are all good news. The part I cared about — the license— is much better now

An ID is NOT required to vote in California's primary today, June 2. But, a voter ID and citizenship-verification requirement HAS qualified for the November ballot.

not sure if everyone can access this, but I just learned about some dramatic changes to SSRN from Steve Bainbridge's Substack. This is really bad; SSRN has been how I keep up with scholarship in my field from a variety of researchers

SocArXiv accepts law papers, as we always have. Some of the bells and whistles he wants we don't have- like ranking and email subscriptions, but those can be built using SocArXiv. We don't have funds or staff to help build that, but law schools do.
