New update! In the past, Diachronica has strongly encouraged presubmission inquiries. In the last 6 months, we've received a lot more of them, to the extent that they are getting lost in my email (and getting confusing when people submit an inquiry but also submit the paper under a different title!)

“Things are not going well in the UK basically for any type of job advertised to linguists”. It wouldn’t surprise me if this were true of most other disciplines at this point. HE feels like it is in free fall.
This absurdity was one of the many reasons why I became so interested in #linguistics to begin with.
