The #BirdOfTheDay theme today is #RockSolid any bird captured, perched on or standing by rocks or on a rocky surface. I found a small flock of double-crested cormorants, these three were taking a breather from the rest.

Here is a Pied-Billed Grebe, photo taken over the weekend. These guys are fairly small compared to their other grebe friends. Seems like they are only above water for a very short while!

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #Anatidae any of the Species will do. We had a rare visitor to our Lake Erie shores in northern Ohio. I made the 2+ hour drive in hopes to see them. Unsuccessful at first, then they came around the rocks!

The Alt theme for #BirdOfTheDay is #Black, birds that have mainly Black Plumage. This is a Bobolink. Lucky enough to have a small population of them in a metropark in Cincinnati. They sound like R2D2 when they sing! #birds #photography #eck
