My 5yo doesn't want to move again. I also don't want to. But I also want to. Research life is hard... We decided to both move to London but make a point of being very sourly about it. 😅

I am not a worrier but ever so often having little to no money pulls me into a dark sticky mud of worry. Worry about the coming years, worry about what I can give my son, worry about my pension that already has huge pay gaps, worry worry worry. And then it just blows over. Blissful ignorance.

Also, this was supposed to be a side project, that I invested ALOT of time in and that may or may not have made me cry this week 😅. Don't come to me for advice on how to prioritize anything...

It only took me 3 weeks but I am finally fitting the volatile kalman filter to my data together with the uHGF, a rescorla-wagner, and Sutton model all using the BFGS algorithm. Easy small steps for many giant step including many lessons learned for me 😅

If we are indeed "stuck genAI " like LLMs and have to "get with the programme", can someone please make them more energy efficient? www.cell.com/patterns/ful... Independent thinking doesn't seem important enough to save but maybe the planet is?
