Defence School of Transport at Leconfield, East Yorkshire has been running BioBlitzes for local naturalists at this restricted MOD site for 4 years. The site is running more events in 2026, please see the attached poster for dates and information.

This is DST’s 5th year of BioBlitzes for naturalists, as we work to identify the biodiversity at this restricted MOD site.

08 Apr 26. Some of our summer visitors are starting to return. Today Blackcaps and Willow Warblers joined the Chiffchaffs, and a Barn Swallow hawked over Wyndham Lake. There were also 16 Sand Martins, 2 Oystercatchers and a Red Kite, plus Small Tortoiseshell, Peacock and Speckled Wood butterflies.
