Update: actually, the cross-posting app DOES handle other servers; I just didn't realize an icon was a button for that. (Curse you, flat UX design!)
Well, I've migrated my account to Northsky—and broken my cross-posting app, which isn't set up to handle any server but Bluesky's. Cool cool cool.
I've *also* discovered that the app I was using for cross-posting cheerfully published that to the wrong set of accounts, so that was a whole lot of fun. Maybe back to the previous app I was using. (Ironically, written by the same people.)
Definitely true, although for me this also applies to comments on archive sites or on Bluesky and Mastodon.
Apparently, the current episode of "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" is about (the destruction of) my college. Yay!
I admit it's nice to be able to "catch up" by filtering out reposts/boosts instead of just declaring timeline bankruptcy on a daily basis.
The more I play with Indigo, a combined Mastodon/Bluesky client, the more I like it; there's some really well thought-out UX design here around threading and timeline filtering.
I've discovered a good way for me to figure out what people find attractive about a given species is to write about one. I didn't really "get" anthro sharks until writing about Nixie. (Her story's publishing next month; I have a big serial or two to start outlining this month…)
