So proud to share our latest publication @CellCellPress! Yue Rui reveals that the same enzyme that makes the wall, cellulose synthase complex (CESA), also tethers the plasma membrane to the wall during water-deficit stress, providing resilience. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Excited to see our #plantscience review published in @jxbotany.bsky.social! It really captures our lab’s perspective on how plants use spatiotemporal signaling under environmental contexts when floods occur, to coordinate acclimation responses and achieve stress tolerance.

This is such a cool principle! I had never thought about it, but it makes so much sense.
Abstract. Flooding is a major abiotic stress that restricts terrestrial plant growth and survival. A plant tissue’s ability to avoid or sustain critical ox

🌱🧬 Plants sense barrier injury through gas diffusion. Ethylene leaks out, oxygen enters. This triggers periderm regeneration. Fixed barrier restores original gas levels.

A study using Arabidopsis shows that plants can monitor the integrity of their outer barriers by sensing gas diffusion, enabling them to initiate wound repair to prevent water loss and pathogen entry.
