In entire fairness, this *is* in part about covering their ideas. He was the one who made the stupid comment about not being "in hock" to the bond markets!
I’m not sure exactly when it happened but at some point political reporting ceased to be about covering politicians and their ideas and turned into a sort of daily horoscope on what ‘the markets’ think about absolutely every single political decision
