My longest-time favourite crystal growth artist is here! 🤩 Anyone "captured for life by symmetry and by crystals": this is a special one to follow 🌟 #crystallography
I keep thinking about it: Koreans love #crystallography but most don't know it yet - Tetragonal lattice at Incheon International Airport, Seoul
@kenichiendo.bsky.social could limoncello solve the dispute?
I would need a good dose of rationality to avoid eating them, they look so gummy 😐
The thrill of seeing clean systematic absences in the peaktable hits me every time, exactly as it did a decade ago... it really never gets old. I don't think this is normal but it feels good so yay! 🫠 #crystallography
woops #crystallography
(nothing compared to my "broken R1" record anyway)
📢 New #FourierTiler release! A few fixes, loading animation... and something really cool: an atomic tile builder to create your unit cell approximant with a few clicks, from your favourite cif file — A significant step closer to the #crystallography lab and classroom.

I referred to this beauty: bsky.app/profile/stec... ... oh do i miss those creative PhD times
Since Google revealed its plans for an AI search overhaul, visits to our "No AI" search page have tripled…and they’re still rising! Want to make it your default on Chrome or Firefox? Grab our No-AI extensions and banish AI-assisted answers, chat, and AI images. (1/3)
I will just recrystallize this iron food supplement, maybe I will get crystals.
Few days later, looking on the crystals:
- WTF? What The Framework, I mean? Why MIL-88A? I did not ask for it or any other MOF!
Looks like #MOF are inevitable.

I just found again a screenshot taken during my PhD, when a structure refinement shattered every certainty I had about R factors, particularly the sentence "R ranges from 0 to about 0.6 for a set of measured intensities compared against a set of random intensities." 🫠
These are crystals of ammonium sodium tartrate (the left is the L-form, and the right is the D-form).
The D- and L-form tartrate ions are mirror images of each other, and this relationship is preserved all the way through to the crystal structure.
