I'm really late starting in on @midnightburger.bsky.social, but I'm now two seasons in and having a great time! In naturally have a soft spot for stories that find real emotional connection amidst an absurd premise, and man, that S2 finale hit all my buttons!
Contemporary fiction teacher who gave us a quiz on Ordinary People, with the question "where did the protagonist take his love interest on a date". Those who wrote "bowling" were correct, while those who wrote "McDonald's" were wrong. "That's not the date. They just ate there." 😐
This is possibly the best metaphor for how I get anything done that I've ever seen.

In an entirely on-brand moment, I had a drink comped at a restaraunt last week because I ordered a something
that they'd only put on the menu as a joke, and never expected anyone to actually order.

Oh shit, how is this the first time I'm hearing about this??! The Devil in Silver is one of my all-time favorite novels, but I completely missed that it's been adapted for the screen!
Attending @tafcon.bsky.social profoundly reinvigorated my desire to dive into new audio dramas! I started this morning with Towers Anthology by the delightful Asante Mango, whom I had the privilege of meeting this weekend. Just two episodes so far, easy to jump into, and thoroughly charming!
Just finished Thrall by my good friend @cafecliche.bsky.social! Another great novel by a great writer! This one is about vampires, but more pointedly, it's about learning to manage fear and continue living in the wake of trauma. Beautiful stuff.
