Duaa Eldeib of @propublica.org recently wrote about babies dying from a rare but fatal condition called Vitamin K deficiency bleeding. In almost every case, the deaths could have been prevented with a simple shot of vitamin K at birth. But in recent years, parents have started refusing the shot.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services proposed on May 20 an awful rule implementing the not-so-beautiful bill’s cuts to Medicaid state-directed-payments (SDPs).
This should scare everyone. It reveals the lack of rules, lack of plans, and inherent dangers of building out the surveillance tech before the law.
