I traveled to the middle of nowhere today to visit my dad for Father's Day.
My husband and I got up early this morning to check out an osprey nest. They were quite a distance away and high up on a nesting platform, but we still managed some halfway decent material. One of my husband's photos is in the comments. 🪶
Apparently I can only upload one video at a time. Here’s the Pygmy Nuthatch at the opening to the same cavity as the Mountain Bluebird, just a few minutes after the bluebird left. I thought it was odd. 🪶
A couple videos of today’s outing to the Roosevelt National Forest in Colorado. I assumed the Mountain Bluebird had a nest inside the cavity, but after it left a Pigmy Nuthatch took its place at the opening. A few minutes later the nuthatch returned and this time the bluebird chased it away. 🪶
My husband's photo of one of the parents bringing breakfast.
A little friend kept me company while I was harvesting lettuce today.

I was sitting on our porch reading when the wind blew some cottonwood fluff onto my arm. I saw a little seed tucked inside so I decided to plant it. Maybe we’ll have a huge cottonwood tree growing in our yard one day. 🌳
Please stop what you’re doing and wish Taz a happy 13th birthday! He’s a good boy.
