With regards to the forced closure of consumption sites across Ontario. This will only harm vulnerable Ontarians and has caused an almost 70% increase of EMS personnel treating overdoses, 50% increase in people visiting the ER, and 20% increase in deaths.

Healthcare funding has only increased by 0.5% this year when it should be at 4% to sustain our current healthcare system. Ontario has the lowest amount of spending per capita on healthcare amongst provinces and we would need an additional 4.4 billion dollars just to meet the average!!

74% of ER doctors say overcrowding is severe and affects their ability to provide timely care. Sylvia Jones is quoted in this article saying that there has been a 4% increase of healthcare funding which is not true. It is actually only 0.5% and needs to be at least 4%.

This story is the result of the Star's freedom of information request several months ago. This type of cronyism story is why Doug Ford wants to stop FOI requests involving himself or his people. This FOI request wouldn't have been possible now.
