This is from last year's pride shoot in my save, but a reminder that Niko has a husband who he loves eternally and would never cheat on. Rowen and Niko are platonic soulmates to me and I wanted to highlight love and acceptance beyond the couples in my main save ❤️
A very short update tonight, but one I felt was fitting to share this month. Niko is bisexual and married to his husband, while Rowen was my first trans sims (reimagined for this save as a fairy). These two became fast friends and a touching side story of love and acceptance.
And together these two know a very important thing, that platonic love and soulmates can exist in a world where boundaries can be broken and people of all kinds can be accepted past the prejudice.
Niko was a rarity among spellcasters Rowen hung out with. He was permitted in the fairy realm by royal decree and knew her identity outside the safety of her realm. Despite knowing he was taken, Rowen couldn't help but crush on the cute, silly spellcaster. He was a dear friend and supporter.
And Nadya knew what spellcaster was always on Rowen's mind. Ever since that mage had wandered into their realm and gained the queen's favor, she had watched her friend and her crush be completely enamored by the married man.
For Rowen, feeling normal was either drinks and dancing or casual time with friends, though friends usually stretched to the mystery spellcasters all the fairies forbid her from being near. She had never understood the hate towards spellcaster.
And her temporary sanctuary remained at her friend's side... despite that same comforting place being what had led to a cross of boundary a while back. Sometimes being accepted so earnestly also meant forgetting the dangers of crossing into something more and the hardships of escaping it.
Looking in the mirror had been hard growing up. Rowen had been born with gorgeous wings but her body had never been what she wanted. She had been born a man and it had taken years of growing out her hair, taking hormones, and working on her confidence to become the woman she was today.
"Oh Rowen you're home!" Nadya exclaimed, embracing her friend outside her humble abode. Rowen had been living with her close friend since transitioning in her teen years. Nadya had accepted her, never turned away. Though it never stopped her judgement, "Those spellcaster didn't harm you did they?"
