After years and years of struggling with this, I have a stylist who lets me come with pre-washed hair, confirms what I want done, and then he cuts my hair in silence. I sit with my eyes closed and breathe deeply until we are done. If I am having a hard time, we take a break. I am so thankful.

I remember being a freshman in college and waiting in a line for 20 minutes to see Ted the Titan (Titan arum) blooming at the UC Davis conservatory. It was awesome (in the "nature's majesty" sense not the "socks and hot dogs" sense), and yes, it smelled Very Gross.
Oh no! I am just trying not to -fail- my eye exam. Where failure is when the optometrist is annoyed with me because I keep saying that neither 1 nor 2 is better, and also I give multisentence responses about the extent to which I am guessing in case that's helpful. ...I usually "fail" my eye exam.

Perhaps the warmest day of the year (so far!) was not a good time to try and pin my big quilt. All I managed to do was get sweaty and annoyed (and incidentally trim down my backing fabric). Oh well, I will try again, hopefully during a cooler time of the week.
I highly recommend being the youngest person in the community center line dance class. @glaiveguisarme.com and I are the youngest by at least 20 years, and we bring the fun(k).
Miley and I just watched Jamie Ding's final episode (it aired Monday, but we've been busy!). What a fun run, he was great.
I did this again this year and I really enjoyed it! I know postcard writing is not a traditional Pride Month thing, but I think it might be becoming one of -my- traditions.

I like the effect of the quilting on this blanket, but the process is very slow! Who did this to me? Oh, it was my own choice to make a full sized quilt with a lot of straight line quilting? That can't be right. Anyway, about 1/4 quilted.

I spent some time today looking at the historical photos of queer folks living their lives and really enjoyed it. These are from the GLBT Historical Society in San Francisco. www.glbthistory.org/digital-coll...

An autistic woman is preparing herself for upwards of an hour and a half of awkward, unbroken eye contact with her own reflection in order to avoid the even more awkward hour and a half of small talk with her hairdresser, sources have revealed.

Happy Pride Month! In celebration, I sent off queer postcards to all the organizations I donate to who support queer people thanking them for their work. It felt nice!
